Greige fabric width refers to the effective width of the fabric in cm. Common specifications and influencing factors are as follows:
Common Specifications:
Narrow Width: 90-120cm (greige fabric for shirts and underwear).
Medium Width: 140-160cm (greige fabric for home textiles and bedding).
Wide Width: 180-320cm (greige fabric for curtains and industrial applications). Extra-wide widths (≥320cm) require special looms (such as wide-width air-jet looms).
Influencing Factors:
Loom Model: Standard air-jet looms have a width of 190-340cm, rapier looms can reach up to 460cm, and water-jet looms are mostly 190-280cm.
Yarn Tension: Uneven warp tension can cause width deviation (±1cm), which requires adjustment using the loom tension control system (accuracy ±0.5%). Fiber Elasticity: Knitted fabrics have high width elasticity (can expand by 5%-10% after stretching), while woven fabrics have stable width (variation ≤ 1%).
Measurement Method: Use a steel tape measure to measure the fabric three times at different locations (head, middle, and tail), take the average, and record the standard width (e.g., "150 ± 1 cm").
