Polyester-cotton fabric is a blend of polyester and cotton fibers, typically containing 60%-67% polyester and 33%-40% cotton. Commonly known as cotton Dacron, it combines abrasion resistance, wrinkle resistance, moisture absorption, and breathability, but suffers from the drawbacks of oil absorption and static electricity. With technological advancements, institutions such as Taiyuan University of Technology have developed a separation technology for waste polyester-cotton blended fabrics. This technology uses a selective hydrolysis process with a low eutectic solvent to produce a cotton-based carbon microsphere composite flame retardant, enabling the industrialization of flame-retardant polyester fibers. The industry entered the Green Revolution phase in 2025. Breakthroughs in mass production technology for bio-based polyester fibers are driving the recycled polyester-cotton market, projected to reach 20 billion yuan by 2030, with physical recycling technology reaching a maturity level of 8. High-end demand for functional fabrics such as silver ion antibacterial and phase change thermoregulation has surged, leading to a "China + Southeast Asia" industry chain model, with online sales channels accounting for over 40%.
